Central Florida Green Guide

Ourlando is celebrating the 2^nd Annual World Fair Trade Day on Saturday, May 12.  This fun event will be hosted by the coolest vegetarian place in town.  Who?  Dandelion Communitea Café.  The event is from 12 noon to sundown and will feature live bands, vegan and organic vendors, as well as Fair Trade food and crafts.  Did I mention it was FREE?

The day will focus on bringing awareness to conscientious consumerism, reminding us that our decisions affect our community and the world.  When we buy products that are Fair Trade Certified we are ensuring that its producer is fairly compensated for his/her goods, has access to a safe, clean working environment, and much more.  This in turn allows the producers to support their families, communities, and the environment.  To learn more about Fair Trade principles please check out The Fair Trade for a Greater Orlando Coalition.

Michelle lives in Orlando with her husband and baby daughter.  She is passionate about pregnancy, birth, and motherhood.  She is a doula, lactation counselor, and Itsy Bitsy Yoga instructor.  You can also find her doing henna at various events.  She is a conscious and spiritual being.  Her dedication to spiritual evolvement led her to become an Avatar Master through which she is helping to create an “enlightened planetary civilization”.
